Using an AI tool is fine, but don't outsource the logic too early. The aspect struggle usually comes from thinking about time instead of completion. Try this 20-minute drill: write down five 'to-do' list items in the morning using only perfective verbs (e.g., 'narediti', 'kupiti'). Then, write the process of doing them using imperfective (e.g., 'delati', 'kupovati'). If you're focused on the *result*, pick perfective. If you're emphasizing the *activity* or a habitual action, go imperfective. If you use an AI, ask it specifically: 'Is this perfective because the action is completed, or is it imperfective because it's continuous?' Don't just ask it to correct you; make it explain the 'why' behind the aspect choice.

I’ve been learning for three years and honestly, aspect was my biggest hurdle. Chickytutor is okay for catching errors, but it might give you a 'perfect' sentence that doesn't sound natural. Instead of automated feedback, try recording yourself for those 20 minutes describing your morning routine. Listen to the recordings and note where you hesitated. If you aren't sure if you should use 'pisati' (imp.) or 'napisati' (perf.), look for time markers. If there’s a duration (e.g., 'eno uro'), use the imperfective. If there’s a specific endpoint (e.g., 'do desetih'), use the perfective. This 'time marker' trick saved me way more time than an AI ever could.

I’m wary of relying on AI for Slovenian because the dual number and case endings often trip up the algorithms, causing them to hallucinate grammatically incorrect sentences that look 'correct' to a beginner. With only 20 minutes, I’d suggest sticking to high-frequency verb pairs. Focus on the 20 most common verbs like 'iti/iti' (going) and 'delati/narediti' (doing). Put them on index cards. On one side, write the infinitive; on the other, write a sentence fragment. Don't worry about flow right now—worry about the *intent*. Did the action finish? If yes, grab your perfective card. If it's a routine, grab the imperfective. Drill this for 10 minutes, and use the other 10 to write a single paragraph using only those pairs.
