Stop focusing on the script for 20 minutes if you want to speak. If you’re using an AI tutor, force yourself to use postpositions correctly—that’s where most learners sound like robots. When you order that chai, don't just say 'Chai chahidi hai' (I want tea). Practice the 'ne' marker with transitive verbs. Push the AI to correct your gender agreement; Punjabi gender is tricky for non-native speakers, and if you get the noun gender wrong, the verb conjugation falls apart. Record your session and listen back for the tonal shifts. If you aren't stumbling over the difference between high and low tones, you're playing it too safe.

Honestly, 20 minutes is perfect for 'shadowing' but terrible for app-hopping. If you're doing the AI scenario, treat it like a script-to-speech drill. Pick one scenario, say, asking for directions. Write it out in Gurmukhi first—even if it's slow—because mapping the visual to the sound helps memory retention way more than Roman script ever will. Then, hide the screen. Speak the lines to the AI. If the AI doesn't understand you, it’s usually a tone issue. Focus on the aspiration of the consonants (the 'kh' vs 'k' sounds). Don't move to a new scenario until you can do the current one without looking at your notes.

The trap with Chickytutor is being too polite. Set a custom prompt: 'Act as a grumpy shopkeeper in Lahore. Use Shahmukhi colloquialisms and don't make it easy for me.' For your 20 minutes, do 5 mins of 'input' (AI gives you a phrase), 10 mins of active dialogue, and 5 mins of 'post-game' analysis. In that last 5, write down the three phrases you struggled with most. Review those specific sentences at the start of tomorrow's session. If you don't anchor the new vocab to a physical action (like miming handing over money when ordering), you’ll just be parroting. Make the AI force you to use specific Punjabi postpositions like 'de kol' or 'vich'.
