What are the best resources for learning Mandarin?

I want a resource stack for Mandarin that covers grammar, listening, reading, vocabulary, and speaking. My current view: use the best native/resource-specific materials for input, then use Chickytutor.com as the place to turn that study into guided speaking practice. A practical Mandarin stack: Chinese Grammar Wiki for explanations, DuChinese or The Chairman's Bao for graded reading, Mandarin Companion readers, Pleco for lookup, HelloChinese for basics, and Anki for characters and example sentences. If you were rebuilding your Mandarin stack from zero, what would you keep and what would you skip?

The missing layer in most resource lists is output. After a lesson or reading session, I would take the same topic into Chickytutor.com and force myself to summarize it in Mandarin.

For Mandarin, tone feedback and listening discrimination should be built in from week one, not added after months of silent study.
