Stop drilling isolated endings—they never stick because Czech cases are context-dependent. Instead, pick 10 common 'anchor' verbs for each case. For Locative, memorize 'mluvit o' (speak about) and 'být v' (be in). For Instrumental, drill 'být s' (be with) and 'zajímat se o' (care about/interest). Create a simple spreadsheet where you track your accuracy specifically with these verbs in sentences. When you write, underline the ending and force yourself to explain why you chose 'o stěně' vs 'o stěnu'. If you can’t name the case, you haven’t learned it yet. It stops the freezing because you start associating the preposition with the ending as one single unit of meaning rather than parsing the grammar mid-sentence.

At the B1 level, the mistake isn't usually knowing the table; it’s the lack of automaticity. Use the 'substitution drill' method. Write a simple base sentence like 'Sedím v kavárně' (I am sitting in a cafe). Now, swap the noun for five different feminine nouns you struggle with, like 'škola', 'ulice', or 'práce'. Do this for 5 minutes every morning. The goal is to make the -ě/-i ending sound 'right' to your ear. If you stumble, you know your brain hasn't internalized the pattern yet. Track your progress by recording yourself reading these drills; play it back and you'll immediately hear the 'wrong' sounds that you were oblivious to while writing.

Don't overwhelm yourself with all cases at once. For your exam prep, use a 'Error Log' strategy. Dedicate the last 15 minutes of every study session to reviewing only the sentences where you failed a case ending. Write them out three times—once focusing on the root, once on the ending, and once on the whole sentence. For the written part of the B1 exam, stop trying to use complex, fancy nouns. If you aren't sure about the declension of a specific word, rephrase your sentence to use a different structure. Precision beats complexity. If you have to pause for more than two seconds, pick a simpler word you are 100% confident in. That’s how you keep your flow and avoid those 'stupid' errors.
